General Program Info
Beaux Esprits is a non-denominational, parent operated playschool with a gentle introduction to French. Our program is designed for children ages 3 – 5 and currently offers morning classes. In the event all morning classes are full and there are at least 10 children on the waiting list willing to enroll in an afternoon class we will consider adding an afternoon class. We are committed to providing the best environment for learning we can. To this end we employ a full-time teacher and a rotation of parent volunteer days in the classroom.
We are also a parent Board of Directors-run program. For the 2023/2024 school year, two key positions will need to be filled in order for the Playschool to operate (Chairperson and Treasurer). Should these positions not be filled, the playschool may not operate in the 2023/2024 school year. Please consider volunteering for these roles to keep our program going!

Government Affordability Grant and Subsidy
On November 15, 2021, the Alberta and federal governments announced an agreement to reduce child care fees by an average of 50% in early 2022. The Playschool will receive an operating grant for each child that attends Beaux Esprits, reducing the above fees by $75 per month.
In addition, families that qualify for subsidy (household annual income less than $180,000) may have the remainder of their monthly fee covered by subsidy. Please note, it is up to each family to apply for subsidy. Those that do not apply or do not qualify for subsidy will be responsible for the remainder of their fee not covered by the $75 government affordability grant.
